The Daily Grind

So I’ve finally got Addison on somewhat of a schedule. I'm reading BabyWise & think I have it all figured out. Most of the time Addi goes with the flow, just to humor me, but we all know that she really runs the show.

In determination to lose those extra few pounds, we begin each morning with a walk (or 2) around the block. Today was chilly (71 degrees), so Addison is sporting her favorite pink beanie. My borrowed car-seat (thanks Cathy!), is blue, so Addison's usually immersed in a sea of pink, just to make sure there is no confusion among the neighbors. The rest of the day may go to pot, but our morning walk is a daily must.

Sweet Indulgences

Can you think of a better combination? Tonight, we spent the evening indulging in my favorites.

Here Addison is with all of the Smallwoods. Cal & Sarah and Cotton & Meridith.  Addi is the one who doesn’t have blond hair. We began the night enjoying some chips, salsa & lots of queso at Lupe Tortilla. Addison witnessed her first heroic act as Merideth put the smack down on smoking on the patio. Addi's little lungs are forever grateful!  You’re awesome Meridith! We then made our way over to the Chocolate Bar to enjoy a mountain of chocolate cake!

West Side Story

Addison made it to her first musical, West Side Story. Houston Christian High School put on a great production at the Berry Center. Despite Ben’s disappointment that JLo’s West Side Story remix was not part of the line up, we had a great time singing along with the Jets and Sharks. Of course, Addi could relate best with “I feel pretty”.  We even got our picture taken with Mrs. Paxton, the production choreographer. She did a superb job orchestrating all of the dance numbers! Addi wore her pink ballerina socks just for the occasion!

Whine & Dine

Our first family night out! We took Addison to dinner at La Vista Restaurant. We sat outside on the porch (there were heaters) and she did great, slept the whole time. Even the waiter thought she was adorable! Addison wasn’t fussy, but we skipped dessert just to be on the safe side. Hopefully, we’ll have plenty more nights out on the town. We could get used to this!

So fresh & so clean

We had our first bath experience today & we're able to capture it on all film. We took our time as Addison giggled, squirmed and made funny faces. She seemed to enjoy it. Little did we know that when it was all said and done with, she had left a surprise of her own in this clean, white towel.

We'll move quicker next time.
